Q›TAR Inventory Control and Product Location
Inventory Control and Product Location
Are your staff wasting time looking for items that keep being moved?
We specialise in providing Stock Control solutions for items that are not stored in fixed locations, but keep being moved about e.g. for operational, access or space reasons.
Reduce your costs by using the Q›TAR Product Location system to find stock quickly and easily.
Intelligent systems that save time and money for your business
If your business is regularly receiving large deliveries or storing products of odd shapes and sizes that can't be stored in fixed locations, keeping track of everything can be a challenge. Our Q›TAR solution specialises in providing stock control for products that are constantly being moved or re-stored to make room for new arrivals or to access items that are behind or underneath others. It helps to dramatically cut the time spent searching for stock by tagging it as it arrives and later being able to find its location immediately – whenever you need it. The system also automatically verifies that all (and only) the correct items have been loaded on the truck.
The elimination of the time wasted hunting for particular items means you need fewer drivers, and indeed fewer forklifts, to handle the same throughput – this is likely to be a huge saving every year. Alternatively, even better, you can increase your turnover and profits with a vastly increased throughput with the same workforce.
See how Howarth Timber Importers handle much more timber and save tens of thousands of pounds every year by implementing the Q›TAR inventory control solution.
Barcode and RFID Inventory Systems
We offer solutions that help your warehouse staff and drivers to find the right product at the right time, by tagging each item using either large barcodes or low-cost long-range passive RFID tags. These are used to record the initial location of the item and then its new location every time it is moved. Recording the movement of an item to a new location is easy, and can even be automated. Finding it again is then quick and simple. The system works in real-time, so your employees always have the most up-to-date information, using a small rugged hand-held PDA or vehicle-mounted computer and scanner. If you can print the barcode for the relevant stock items on the picking list or load sheet, the current location of each item is shown just by scanning its barcode.
Choosing to use low-cost long-range passive RFID tags allows the whole process to be economically automated. But more than that, with RFID tagging, you can do a stock-take just by a single person driving or walking around the site! Again, this can be a huge saving. Monthly, weekly, daily or even continuous automatic stock-takes are feasible, giving much tighter control of the business.
Also, with RFID, the Q›TAR system can verify that the load on a truck is correct before opening the barrier to let the truck leave, thus avoiding despatch errors that are not only costly but annoy and inconvenience the customer and undermine your reputation.
Note that companies that initially choose barcodes for their Q›TAR system, however, can be easily upgraded to use RFID tags at any time in the future.
Our standard solutions can be customised to meet your exact requirements for even greater efficiency and savings. Q›TAR systems can also be integrated with your existing Inventory Control system.
